Metastatic breast cancer, sometimes called advanced, or stage 4 breast cancer, is breast cancer that has spread to distant parts of the body, such as the lungs, liver, bones or brain. Ongoing research and advancements are being made in the treatment of this cancer with the new combination of anti-hormones and inhibitors that may slow the progression of this disease, providing patients with more hope than ever before.
